Only the first Matrix was good...

...well, although I enjoyed the sequels, they didn't have the same impact and weren't nearly as good. Too much fluff, too little emphasis on story, didn't work very well, smelt of cash in rather than labour of love (like the first one).

The Wachowski brothers did well with the Matrix... however, they need to be careful and avoid travesties like this (requires QuickTime):

These are examples of how bad things can get when you lose perspective (e.g. George Lucas - although not this bad).
